Breakell Racing Taste Ginetta Podium Success At Snetterton

Breakell Racing have continued their fantastic run of form in the Ginetta GT Championship with a brilliant podium hat-trick during the latest rounds at Snetterton last weekend (17/18 June).

The Lancashire-based team tackled the latest rounds of the 2023 Ginetta GT Championship season with confidence high following their stunning performance over the G Fest event two weeks’ prior, in which Blake Angliss and Ruben Hage shared all seven race wins on offer.

Angliss returned to the team for his second appearance of the season at Snetterton and went on to lead the team’s talented GT Pro class trio in qualifying, finishing third fastest overall as Hage and Carl Garnett joined him in the top five on the timesheets.

The opening race saw Angliss and Hage run in the same positions throughout as the former started the weekend with a podium, whilst Garnett came home a competitive sixth. Race two on Sunday morning saw an epic drive from Angliss, who fought back after a slow start dropped him to fifth.

A thrilling run of overtaking moves saw the former Ginetta GT4 SuperCup racer scythe his way up the order and take another podium result in second, with Hage provisionally securing a podium finish before an unfortunate post-race penalty.

Angliss went on to lead the opening few laps of the final race of the weekend before coming home second, in the process continuing his 100% podium record since joining the team. Garnett took a best result of the weekend in fifth, with Hage following him home as both completed a hat-trick of top six finishes for the event.

Karim Sekkat was also in action in the close-fought GT5 Pro class. A stunning job by the team to replace a blown engine in Friday testing ensured he was on track for the weekend, and the Moroccan racer put in a strong showing to record a trio of top five finishes, including a best of fourth.

James Breakell - Team Principal: “We’re delighted to have continued our good run of form in the Ginetta’s across the Snetterton weekend. It was a long, hot four days there and everyone in the team did a great job, so for their efforts to be rewarded with some podiums is fantastic.

“After their phenomenal performances at G Fest, it was great to see both Blake and Ruben back in the podium mix again. It was tougher weekends for Carl and Karim, but they both showed good improvement and scored some strong results. After our busy run of Ginetta events, we’re ready for a few weeks off to reset and come back again stronger at Cadwell Park.”
