Breakell Racing Take Brilliant Radical Victory At Brands Hatch

Breakell Racing have continued their fantastic start to the 2022 Radical Challenge Championship, with rising star Noah Degnbol scoring a maiden win in the latest rounds at Brands Hatch this past weekend (21/22 May).

The Lancashire based team have returned to the Radical Challenge this season after a couple of years away, running an SR3 for Degnbol. The Danish racer enjoyed a dream debut at Donington Park in April, taking a podium hat-trick and the Driver of the Weekend award.

Degnbol carried that momentum into the Brands Hatch event, kicking things off with a stunning double pole position by almost four tenths of a second around the Grand Prix circuit in qualifying. That put him at the front of the grid for the two sprint races later that day.

A supreme performance in the opener saw him lead from lights-to-flag for his breakthrough victory, with impressive pace seeing him pull a lead of nearly three seconds at one stage. He backed that up with another top drive in race two, running second throughout and posting the fastest lap.

The 17 year old highlighted his lightning pace again on Sunday with another pole position for the 45 minute endurance race. With a pitstop success penalty and a small mistake dropping him into the pack, he produced a tremendous fightback to second at the chequered flag – with just a time penalty for track limits infringements denying him a further podium as he was put back to fourth.

James Breakell: “We continue to be so impressed with Noah. His natural speed has been fantastic from the first time he got behind the wheel of the Radical with us, and he’s only been improving from there with his qualifying runs and race pace.

“He was superb all weekend around one of the fastest and most demanding circuits in the country. Saturday was almost a perfect day and while it’s a shame to not get the podium on Sunday, it takes nothing away from another brilliant weekend from Noah.”
